Can I machine ceramic? - practicalmachinist

Dec 01, 2015 · Each part has 4 pockets (.466 dia x .300 deep in alum). But the catch is that each pocket has a little 5/16 ceramic insert in it that has to go .020 deeper also. Can I cut this with an endmill? If not can I use one of those little dremel grinding tools for the ceramic part? Ive never cut this material, or ceramic in general.
